MA XIĀONAN is the brand set up by the designer Xiaonan Ma, who has graduated from LCF, UAL. The silhouette of her design is based on Wabi-sabi, the topic that Xiaonan has a huge interest, outlining the fragmentary beauty. Originally, Wabi-sabi talked about a kind of lifestyle, but here it is referred to a unique aesthetic idea. Based on Xiaonan’s educational background, she believes that there are similarities between classical British aesthetics and Wabi-sabi, reflecting the British local, simple, peaceful, modest and natural beauty. Based on the British Wabi-sabi style, Xiaonan has constructed a unique visual experience, being tight with classical British culture, spreading into her elements of design, craftsmanship, fabrics and every detail.
